Are you the expert who tackles digital threats before they become a problem? Do you get energy from designing and building robust security architectures, identifying vulnerabilities, and creating smart solutions that truly work? Do you want to work on challenging projects without having to worry about sales? Then you may be the Security Engineer we are looking for.
With us, you will work on complex security challenges for leading clients. You build, optimize, and help defend IT environments against threats, and you get the freedom to choose which projects suit you best. Whether your focus is on offensive security, secure network design, malware defense, or developing detection and response mechanisms, you can shape your path based on your strengths and interests. You also stay engaged with your profession outside working hours, whether that means exploring new techniques, solving lab challenges, or participating in technical communities.
What are you going to do?
Imagine this: you are starting a new project at a large organization. You begin by analyzing the IT landscape, identifying vulnerabilities through penetration testing, redesigning parts of the infrastructure, and implementing new security controls. You develop security plans, advise on best practices, and help ensure that incident response plans are complete and effective.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Designing and implementing secure network and system architectures
- Conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Setting up and managing firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions
- Integrating encryption and authentication mechanisms
- Performing threat analysis and developing mitigation strategies against advanced threats, malware, phishing, and social engineering
- Advising on compliance with security and privacy standards such as GDPR, NIS2, ISO 27001, NIST, and BIO
What are you bringing?
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
- Fluent Dutch, both spoken and written, at C1 level
- At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or a similar technical role
- Knowledge of secure coding, vulnerability management, and incident response
- Experience with firewall architectures, SIEM/SOAR, EDR, and cloud security in AWS, Azure, or GCP
- A strong passion for technology, reflected in personal learning, labs, technical challenges, hackathons, or open-source security projects
- Experience with scripting and/or programming in multiple languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, C/C++, Go, or Java
- Strong understanding of operating system internals
- Strong communication skills to explain complex technical subjects clearly and effectively
- One or more relevant certifications, such as offensive security, advanced security, networking, or security architecture certifications
